About Dagan LaCorte

Suffern stands at a historic crossroads.  Regional transportation changes and strained infrastructure demand bold leadership anchored by a record of commitment to our small town values.  Suffern needs Dagan LaCorte as its next Mayor.

Dagan LaCorte is a proven progressive leader with a demonstrated record of improving the quality of life of Suffern families.  We need Dagan's strong and experienced voice for Suffern families.

As Deputy Mayor, Dagan fought to stop tax hikes directed at condo and co-op owners, improve the downtown business district and protect us from overdevelopment.  He was a strong and early voice against the urbanization of the old Tilcon quarry, which would overwhelm our infrastructure and destroy our village's charm.  As Mayor, he'll preserve Suffern, ensuring our community maintains its voice as an independent village.

Dagan understands that Suffern families face a crushing tax burden.  That's why his downtown revitalization plan to lift commercial property values and reduce the government's dependence on residential property taxes is so important.  Dagan is also working to eliminate confiscatory parking taxes that discourage retail businesses from opening in Suffern.  As Mayor, Dagan will renew the partnership between our residents and shop owners by encouraging pedestrian use of our historic village center.

A village trustee since 2005, Dagan's commitment to Suffern is anchored by his devotion to his family.  Dagan and Stacy are raising their daughter, Rachel, in Suffern.  The LaCortes are invested in our schools and in our future.  That's why they are active members of the Suffern Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels, Friends of Suffern and Temple Beth El.

Dagan knows that our village government is the first line of defense for our quality of life.  That's why he changed the snow removal rules in Bon Aire to assist residents, developed Operation Safe Roads with the Suffern Police Department to enforce commercial vehicle restrictions and lowered the speed limits in residential neighborhoods.  As Mayor, Dagan will seek federal and state funds to provide additional resources to our Police Department.

Dagan's business experience enables him to cut wasteful spending and streamline our local budget.  A graduate of Union College and the New York University School of Law, Dagan believes in strong management.

He will strengthen the village's Code of Ethics to eliminate conflicts of interest.  He currently is managing member of L&L Partners Wealth Management, LLC in Suffern.
