  Trish Abato
Trish Abato is an experienced village trustee and lifetime community activist with strong dedication to Suffern and its families.  Widely acknowledged as a strong and independent voice, Trish fights to protect our quality of life.  As a two-term trustee, Trish has been an outspoken critic of overdevelopment of the Schwartz property and was an early voice in opposition to the proposed massive quarry project.

Trish Abato's public service is the natural expression of many years volunteering to help our community's less fortunate.  She is the former Director of the Suffern Soup Kitchen, a New York State Emergency Medical Technician, Past President of the Suffern Lions Club, and Vice President of the Friends of the Village of Suffern.

Trish has assisted with the Suffern D.A.R.E. Toy Drive for the past sixteen years. She is currently employed by Comprehensive OB-GYN.

Every charity and community group knows they can call on Trish for assistance, from the youth theater to our seniors.  She was assisted numerous organizations with her grant writing expertise and bring the perspective of a mother and longtime resident to the Board of Trustees.
 
 
 
  Bruce Simon
Bruce Simon is a citizen activist with a passion for improving Suffern.  His strong voice for neighborhood preservation is backed by years of service to our community.

Bruce is deeply involved in Viola Elementary, as a Cub Scouts Leader and volunteering with the hospitality committee of the Parent Teacher Association.  He has also been a Coach for the Suffern Little League and an Assistant Coach for Ramapo Valley Soccer. He is also a member of the Suffern Planning Board. Bruce and his wife Mary are the parents of two beautiful children and serve as class parents for their son's Viola School class.

After attending dozens of Village Board meetings, as well as Planning Board and Zoning Board meetings, Bruce decided to run for Trustee to help address the enormous challenges facing Suffern.  He is deeply concerned about preserving Suffern's affordability for families, safeguarding the village water supply, enhancing services for seniors and strengthening the downtown business district.

Bruce's experience in business and media will bring a unique perspective to the Board of Trustees.  He is the former Head Writer and Format Manager for Launch Radio Networks, a leading music and news information service for radio stations and websites around the world.
Bruce is currently self-employed.  He lives in the Memorial Drive section of Suffern.
